Sept. 19 (Wed.) at 7 PM: Phil Goodstein on his new book, From Soup Lines to the Front Lines: Denver during the Depression and World War II, 1927-1947, Vol. 4 of Denver from the Bottom Up. Goodstein's book details the events leading to the first Columbine Massacre (1927), the actions of unemployed workers during the great depression, how the community rallied against attempts at the racial profiling of Japanese-Amercians during World War II, and the idiosyncrasies and ways of functioning of Denver during the period.
