Rock Out Columbus Day The LAST a.k.a. Indigenous Peoples Fest!
Rock Out Columbus Day The LAST a.k.a. Indigenous Peoples Fest!
This year brings the 100th year anniversary of the celebration of Columbus Day in Colorado-the first and oldest C-day in the nation.
After 19 years of efforts in Denver to transform the holiday that celebrates the murderer and slave trader Columbus to one that brings honor and respect to all peoples, waiting for them to change it matters no more.
WE are changing it and this year we will stand in principled opposition against the celebration of Colon, and make a step forward by having our own celebration-Celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day. This stance is supported by Indigenous Peoples everywhere and sponsored by peoples of conscience working together to bring honor to all nations.
Join us on October 6th in Denver (check www.transformcolumbusday.org for details) as we stand for what we recognize to be a disgrace, and also step forward to honor the Indigenous of the world who are still fighting the legacy of colonialism, genocide, and imperialism, a legacy extending back to Columbus that must be ended now!
With that I announce this awesome educational, celebratory, transformational, fabulous festival to spread awareness, help us raise funds and influence the look of culture in our local community by bringing
truth and Indigenous representation to music, art, and more!
