RNC Welcoming Committee comes to Fort Collins March 4th

The RNC Welcoming Committee—an anarchist/anti-authoritarian organizing body preparing for the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minnesota—is coming to Fort Collins. They will be giving a presentation Tuesday, March 4th at Matter Bookstore (located in the Bean Cycle at 144 N. College Avenue).

The Welcoming Committee will discuss plans to confront and disrupt the RNC taking place this September, with the intention of empowering people to participate in the anti-RNC actions.

Included in the evening will be information about activist skills and community building (direct action, affinity groups, etc.), useful both for the conventions and activism in general. There will also be information about anti-DNC plans for the convention in Denver this August and how to plug into the efforts locally. And in case you’re hungry or looking for something to read, there'll be cookies and a few zines available in hopes of generating a little bit of traveling money for the Welcoming Committee folks.
