If you're a frequent visitor, you've probably noticed big changes to this website. Here is a little information about what we're doing and why.
We are upgrading the functionality, security, and stability of the COimc web site to better serve the community and provide the privacy expected of an indymedia site. This site now runs on a content management system known as Drupal. Drupal is an open-source project which means that the code that runs our site is community-created. More importantly, the fact that it is open-source means that we can edit it to suit our own needs. Lastly, Drupal is a common platform for indymedia websites and so there is a large community-based pool of resources to draw from.
The new look and feel was designed by the COimc tech team with help from our friends at indymedia.be.
We have improvied the security of this site and we have disabled IP logging and other logging using this information about building indymedia sites on Drupal.
Other resources have been found on indymedia's documentation pages and on the Drupal groups indymedia page.
