Banner Marks May Day in Fort Collins

May 1st was heralded in Fort Collins by a banner displayed in the downtown district.  The banner read, “Overthrow the State and Military.”  This May Day message was dropped from a rooftop over the lunch hour.

This year’s May Day saw the closing down of 29 ports along the west coast of the U.S., as the International Longshore and Warehouse Union called for strikes and port closures as direct action against the war and occupation in Afghanistan and Iraq.
