Nomadic Gallery Spotted at 13th & Grant
The usually vacant Quizno’s parking lot at 13th and Grant became a transient refuge for Denver’s only “rolling” Nomadic Gallery last night. “Featuring some of Denver’s best contemporary artists,” according to their website at boomdenver.com, ”Boom is a gallery built in the back of a 26-ft truck that takes the art to the people, making contemporary art accessible for all, right on the street.” Boom is up and running for the DNC.
What usually is packed Tetris-style with mattress frames and end tables has been transformed once again into a roving gallery space, this time intending to compliment the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs Dialog City event’s more international offerings. Featuring local artists such as JOROKO, who claims to have been “Putting Holes in Canvases Since 2004”, Boom will be a fleeting treat to anyone prowling the street. Look for Boom outside private and public gatherings all next week. Sightings could be rare, however, many events on their ever changing schedule include a (Parking Space Tentative!) caveat.
