Corporate Media Harasses Protestors

Reports have been coming in throughout the day that speakers, medics, and other activists are being aggressively harassed by corporate media attempting to cover the protests against the Democratic National Convention. While many reporters verbally harass demonstrators, several have been reported to physically confront them.

At the morning Anti-War Protest, a Fox News Reporter wormed his way towards Ward Churchhill. When Churchill declined to speak with him and Colorado AIM security confronted the corporate journalist, the crowd surrounded the Fox News reporter demanding to know why his organization did such a terrible job covering the War, presenting accurate news, and living up to their claims of being "Fair and Balanced."

Later in the day, Street Medic Zoe Williams reports being aggressively confronted by a Clear Channel Journalists.

It's called "Freedom of Speech" you idiots!

You're protesting in public, so people, especially journalists, have a right to film you and ask questions about what you're protesting about.

I saw that fox news report. The crowd did NOT demand "to know why his organization did such a terrible job covering the War, presenting accurate news, and living up to their claims of being "Fair and Balanced." "

All they did was scream "Fuck Fox News! Fuck Fox News!"

You idiots were given 1 chance to make your case and reach out to mainstream America, where the real power lies, and you idiots fucked it up and just made fools out of yourselves.

Paul

I just don't get this line. "Freedom of speech" is an inherent right everyone has. It does not compel people to talk to you, no matter where you are or what your agenda is. Freedom of speech includes the right NOT to speak... right "anonymous?" heh

I saw the video too. "Griff" refers to his previous attempt to "interview" Ward Churchill. It's clear the two events didn't occur at the same moment.

Victory for Fox News!

Congratulatios, leftists!

You have just given, YES GIVEN, the right wing a massive propoganda victory.

Fox News went to the rally with the intent to make you look like intolerant political extremists in the eyes of mainstream Americans.

When the cameras were on you, you had an opportunity to reach out to regular Americans, who the vast majority of which do not give half a shit about your "radical direct action" and your "solidarity networks" and such, and present yourselves and intelligent, compassionate people.

You not only did NOT do any of that. You walked into, no, embraced with open-arms the Fox News trap!
