Reports indicate that between 400-1000 who participated in the Anticapitalista March are being detained by the police. The crowd has been separated into groups and individuals have been arrested one-by-one. Reports indicate that police have been using pepper-spray and tear gas since the march began.
The march began at Civic Center Park just after 7pm. When people entered the streets from the park, the police surrounded them and issued a dispersal order. The bulk of the crowd went down 15th Street. Cops followed and pinned people in.
Activists trapped in the crowd describe the one as joyful but tense. People are chanting "What do we want, justice! When do we want it now?"

Do you really believe the average American gives half a shit about your movement? About your "solidarity networks" and "radical direct action?"
You people are an insignificant political force in this country.
Do you really believe the American people will stand up and march beside you and wave your black and red flags?
You don't have any mass support. You're nothing but a fringe group of political extremists on the margins of society.
Get a life
You are right

You are right. The average Amerikan, such as yourself, is a selfish bastard who happily support murder abroad and at home so that their sacred Amerikan "way of life" won't be disturbed. Fuck you, average Amerikan!

this type (pens) of entrapment is nothing new. i'm guessing they're gonna detain everyone for the remainder of the dnc.
in the future i suggest that we plan better in advance - read the book 'policing dissent.' it won't give us any clear ideas of what to do, but will hopefully lead to some creative ways to beat the govn't/fbi/law enforcement at their own games....
hi fbi - or whoever is reading this. see you all at the rnc.

The post a few up is wise. Always be aware of what's happening. Send out scouts. Don't have to go far, but far enough to see what the police are doing the next block over. Don't be surprised.

thanks- I take it from being at a few dozen protests- and more importantly- LEARNING from them. Its seems like everyone gets amnesia out there once the shit goes down. People need to know their urban areas better- and have at least one contingency plan. Wish I could be there- I'm trapped in the desert! Remember to de-arrest, folks!
