From Rights Over Knights
The Knights of Columbus is having their 129th Supreme Convention in Denver, Colorado, July 30th -August 4th, 2011.
Rights Over Knights, a coalition opposed to this convention, is calling for a protest of the Convention.
Join us Sunday, July 31st, on the global day of action against fascism and racism, at 12:30pm outside of the Denver Sheraton Hotel to picket the registration for the conference and get plugged in to protests scheduled for later.
We are also calling on autonomous affinity groups to target convention activities throughout the week. Visit our website for the schedule of events, and a list of organizing, scouting, and self-defense trainings taking place in the next few weeks.
Coloado Springs, Colorado
Friday, September 11th, 2009
The sun was warm and a strong wind blew on 9/11/09, as a group of about seven “9/11truthers” held home-made signs and passed-out dvds at the corner of E. Bijou and Tejon St. in downtown Colorado Springs. Similar actions took place around the country today, including at the intersection of 16th and Wynkoop in Denver. These were part of an organized campaign, this one in particular run by a fairly decentralized group called “We Are Change,” based out of New York. It was an unusual site to see in a city known for its extreme conservatism. However, as some of you might well-suspect, “We Are Change” is an ironic misnomer. Further inquiry revealed that the group responsible for the event is neither radical nor reformist; but represents a new and growing form of reactionary right-libertarianism.
Dear Supporters of COIMC
I am pleased to announce that on the next to the next to the last Tuesday of January COIMC will have its first mouthy meeting (Jan. 20th) at 6:30 mp till 8:30pm at the Denver Open Media Center at the corner of 7th and Kalamath Street in Denver.
On November 23rd as many of you know Colorado Indymedia got a new look. We hope you like it. This is however just a beginning because not only did the website get a new look but Colorado Indymedia also reaffirmed its commitment to our mission: to be an open media outlet for the creation of radical, accurate, and passionate telling of the truth.
There have been quite a few changes to the site recently that should make it better. Here's what's been going on behind the scenes at Colorado Indymedia.
At Colorado Indymedia, we understand that independent journalists and
whistle blowers are often subject to harassment or threats to their
safety. We also understand that average, everyday citizens who are
trying to "be the media" may not want their personal information spread
across the web, especially in the face of large data mining operations
The COimc is now meeting on a weekly basis. The next Colorado Indymedia meeting is set for Monday, August 18th at 7 PM at Denver Open Media at 700 Kalamath.
